I’m not sure about you, but the 4th of July is one of my favorite times of the year. Holidays strike a happy note in me, because I am the sap who is reminded of family gatherings and togetherness.
With large family gatherings comes a copious amount of delicious food and drink. My family on my mother’s side hosts a sizeable reunion yearly, and with over 150 people attending on a regular basis, we need to keep the refreshments plentiful and tasty as a summer breeze.
Presented below is a little treat that I’ll certainly be serving to my family. There are numerous variants on this, and with a little experimenting you can find new ways to enjoy this basic cocktail.
Stars & Stripes
2oz. Sloe Gin
2oz. Blue Curacao
Light cream
Ice
Fill Collins glass with ice. Add Blue Curacao. Carefully layer Blue Curacao, followed by light cream. If done properly, you’ll end up with lovely layers of red, white and blue.
Have drink suggestions? Send them our way, and we’ll post them up for the 4th of July!
