Lots of celebrities have been partnering with distilleries lately, including Ryan Reynolds, George Clooney, and Bob Dylan, and now, U2's Bono is the latest star to form a partnership with a liquor company, according to the Irish Times.
Bono is one of the named investors in an upcoming whiskey distillery located in Monasterevin, County Kildare, in a mill that was once owned by the Irish Cassidy family, who used it to make whiskey from 1784 to 1921. Now purchased by the main developer and investor, Paddy McKillen, the distillery is worth a whopping €50 million, which comes out to roughly $58.5 million.
Not to be outdone by MMA star Conor McGregor, who will be producing Proper No Twelve whiskey with Bushmill's, Bono will now be behind a new high-end brand of Irish whiskey — there are no more details as of yet, but surely, U2 and whiskey fans alike are already eagerly awaiting this collaboration.
