In mid-December in Monterey Park, CA, two thieves broke into a Chinese specialty grocery and made off with more than $50k worth of alcohol. The shocking thing: they only stole two bottles.
On Wednesday, December 21st, burglars broke into Wing Hop Fung in Monterey Park, a city in Los Angeles County. The two broke in by carving a hole in the roof, snatched two bottles of cognac, and climbed back out, NBC News reports. The bottles in question were cognac worth around fifty-three thousand dollars together. One was a Louis XIII Rare Cask 426 Cognac Second Edition worth $28,000, and the other was a Louis XIII Black Pearl Cognac Anniversary Edition, which was valued at $25,000.
