Booker’s Bourbon, the small batch trailblazer that the Beam Family’s legendary 6th Generation Master Distiller and namesake Booker Noe brought to life, is coming up on its 25th anniversary. In honor of the occasion, Beam, Inc. is rolling out Batch No. 2014-1, an extremely limited and exclusive bottling that the company says is the most unique liquid it has produced to date.
There are a couple of things that will make Batch No. 2014-1 a cause for celebration when it begins showing up on liquor store shelves in March. The first, of course, is the fact that the barrels selected for the bottling were among the last that Booker himself hand-picked and laid down in the racks before he passed away. They were taken from the center-cut in his favorite rack house, where they were aged longer than any other Booker’s Bourbon to date. The bourbon was bottled at its natural proof, uncut and unfiltered. What’s more, there are fewer than 6,000 bottles being made available.
The bourbon’s special commemorative packaging features a special wooden case, a label that depicts Noe’s dog Spot, and 25 Bookerisms, a collection of sayings the distiller was known for using. Suggested retail price is $100 for a 750ml bottle.
In the video embedded below, Booker’s son Fred Noe, who is the Beam Family’s 7th Generation Master Distiller, and grandson, Freddie Noe, talk about the late-great small batch pioneer and the special bottling they are releasing to celebrate his bourbon’s 25th Anniversary.
